The National Health Support Program (NHSP) is a vital initiative focused on enhancing primary healthcare services. Its core areas include Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health (RMNCH), Anti-Tuberculosis efforts, Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) Services, and the District Health Information System-2 (DHIS-2), all aimed at improving health outcomes across Sindh.
To ensure robust execution and alignment with program goals, orientation meetings were successfully conducted on May 7 & 8, 2025, at the Directorate General Health Services Sindh (DGHSS) office in Hyderabad. Key district health officials, including DDHO RMNCH, ADHO–CDC, and Focal Persons for EPI & DHIS from Ghotki, Jacobabad, Kambar, Kashmore, Sanghar, Shikarpur, Matiari, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Sujawal, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allayar, Tharparkar, Thatta, and Umerkot, attended the meeting.
The sessions were presided over by Dr. Waqar Memon, DG Health Sindh, who emphasized the crucial role of district officers in the project’s successful implementation. Dr. Sahib Jan Badar, Project Director of NHSP, Sindh, provided a comprehensive overview of NHSP, detailing its objectives and scope.
Kashif Ali Raza, Additional Program Director, outlined the program’s key areas and implementation strategies, highlighting the specific responsibilities of District Health Officers (DHOs).
Imran Ahmed, MIS Specialist, presented a district-wise analysis identifying gaps in service delivery and current trends.
Syfoor Khan, Gender and Training Specialist, led discussions on Environment & Social Safeguard, the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM), and Gender & Training components within NHSP.
Dr. Ghulam Murtaza, Additional Director, MIS gave a detailed presentation on transition from DHIS to DHIS2
